Its okay to look for a diabetic bbq sauce because barbecue sauce in general is delicious. Unfortunately most of the sauces are full of sugar which makes it poison for diabetics.
No one wants to have diabetes, but until there is a cure for this disease it is important that you avoid sugar and carbohydrates that are empty calories. How do you do that is by counting carbohydrates and discussing your diet with your physician.
Sauces to avoid
When shopping for barbecue sauce check out the ingredients and look at the nutritional information on the back. Here are the ingredients that you want to avoid in buying if you’re a diabetic any barbecue sauce that contains this:
high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, sugar. Its empty calories that a diabetic best avoids. If your out eating out then use 1 tablespoon of the sauce but that’s it.
That’s what I do.
Look on the Nutrition facts and see how many total carbohydrates are per serving size. The serving size is 2 tablespoons In my opinion if its more then 8g then you need to get another sauce.
But better yet why don’t you do a low carb barbecue sauce yourself. Its easy to make and you will know what is going into your body.
Thats why I like to cook at home my own bbq and make my own sauce. You can have chocolate in your life again with vitalicious Sure I am upset that I have diabetes but that is life. I have to use low carb everything including diabetic-barbecue-sauce.
