Diabetic BBQ Sauce What You Seek

It’s okay to look for a diabetic bbq sauce because barbecue sauce, in general, is delicious. Unfortunately, most of the sauces are full of sugar which makes them poison for diabetics.

No one wants to have diabetes, but until there is a cure for this disease it is important that you avoid sugar and carbohydrates that are empty calories. How you do that is by counting carbohydrates and discussing your diet with your physician.

Three Different BBQ Sauces For a Diabetic

Three diabetic barbecue sauces that you can consider making and using are.

  1. Vinegar based barbecue sauce,
  2. mustard based bbq sauce
  3. tomato based bbq sauce

where you limit the amount of sugar by using a little Splenda or better yet no sugar substitutes at all.

Diabetic Barbecue Sauce Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1 (8 ounce) can of tomato sauce
  • 2 cups of water
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1⁄8 teaspoon clove
  • 1⁄4 cup wine vinegar
  • 1⁄4 cup Worcestershire sauce

Directions
Mix all ingredients; bring to a full boil. Boil it for around 20 minutes. Cool and then refrigerate for a few hours before serving.

Believe me that once you start limiting the amount of empty sugar and empty carbohydrates in your diet you will feel better and your taste buds will appreciate the sweetness in a more sensitive way.

Sauces to avoid when you have diabetes

When shopping for barbecue sauce check out the ingredients and look at the nutritional information on the back. Here are the ingredients that you want to avoid in buying if you’re a diabetic any barbecue sauce that contains: high fructose corn syrup, corn syrup, or sugar. It’s empty calories that a diabetic best avoid. If your out eating out then use 1 tablespoon of the sauce but that’s it.


That’s what I do.

Look at the Nutrition facts and see how many total carbohydrates are per serving size. The serving size is 2 tablespoons In my opinion if its more than 8g then you need to get another sauce.

But better yet why don’t you do a low carb barbecue sauce yourself? It’s easy to make and you will know what is going into your body.

That’s why I like to cook at home my own bbq and make my own sauce. You can have chocolate in your life again with vitalicious Sure I am upset that I have diabetes but that is life. I have to use low carb everything including diabetic barbecue sauce.

But a friend of mine told me about vitalicous and healthy chocolate cakes you get 48 cakes that you store in the freezer as it’s without preservatives.

It tastes great they are small and satisfying I don’t feel deprived, As a physician, I know I have to watch my sugar but one cake doesn’t hurt me and makes me feel good again!
