The charcoal smoker uses the heat created from the heating up of charcoal briquets which in turn warms a pan containing water and wood chips to produce the smoke.

The smoke in turn heats up and cooks the meat at a lower temperature over a longer period of time. You only need to check on it occasionally to check the meat temperature and the wood chips to ensure the smoke continues to be flow.

My Final Thoughts

I have been buying Weber BBQ grills for many years for our backyard grilling and have always been impressed with how well constructed they were.

The classic black Porcelain coated steel exterior and large high dome lid have become synonymous with Weber. So when it was time to buy my first smoker for the backyard, of course I would turn to Weber one more time.

The Weber 721001 Smokey Mountain Cooker 18-Inch Charcoal Smoker seemed to follow in the footsteps of all the other cookers that came before it.

It has the familiar baked on Black Porcelain coating on its steel shell and high domed lid. The two level cooking makes it easy to cook a full meal at the same time and it turns out marvelous.
