Parmesan breaded pork chops are a juicy and flavorful recipe that you can prepare for the whole family. Pork chops are a great alternative for chicken and they can provide the protein needed by your body.
Cooking this dish requires using boneless pork chop. The bread crumbs and parmesan cheese makes the pork chop crunchy. On the other hand, the freshly chopped sage and black pepper enhance the flavor.
You can serve Parmesan breaded pork chops with sautéed broccoli rabe or mashed red potatoes or roasted butternut squash and pears.
Ingredients:
- 1 slice white bread, good quality
- ¼ cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated
- 1 tbsp. freshly chopped sage
- Black pepper, ground
- ¼ tsp. kosher salt
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large egg whites
- 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
- 1 ½ tbsps. vegetable oil
- 4 boneless pork loin chops
Instructions
- To make a coarse crumb, you should place the bread into the food processor and push the pulse button about 10 times. Pour the crumb into a pie plate or shallow dish and mix other ingredients including Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, pepper, sage and salt to taste. Place the flour in a separate shallow dish and on another shallow dish mix the egg whites and Dijon mustard. Using a whisk, beat the two ingredients until they’re well mixed.
- Coat a pork chop with flour, dip it into the egg white-Dijon mixture and make sure that the chop is completely coated. Let it sit on a plate. Do the same with the remaining pork chops.
- In a large skillet, pour the oil and make sure that it is distributed throughout the pan. Use medium heat to cook the pork chops. Wait for the breading to become crusty and browned before flipping to another side.
